KNUST VICE CHANCELLOR REPLIES NANA KWESI ESHUN’S LETTER requesting her to intervene on the rampant increase of hostel prices. Nana Kwesi Eshun, a student of KNUST reading BSc. Statistics have recently been speaking on the Hostel issue on his Twitter space with the Hashtag #FixHostelPrices Nana Kwesi Eshun was also encouraging students to voice their concerns as it is their responsibility stated in the Student Guide. I quote; we have the Responsibility to be active in respectfully voicing opinions and ideas appropriately. Nana Kwesi in his letter made mention of the fact that Hostel Price Hikes is the most aggravating issue as far as KNUST students are concerned. He, therefore, wrote a letter to the Vice-Chancellor to intervene on the student's behalf with respect to the Price Hikes. The office of the VC has contacted Nana Kwesi Eshun to relay the message that; The VC has acknowledged his letter and has directed the Dean of Students to address the issue as soon as possible with th

NANA KWESI ESHUN SPEAKS ON SRC VETTING INCIDENCE

The incident that occurred on the early hours on Sunday morning during the KNUST SRC VETTING process is awful and a disgrace to the entire student body.  Such incidents paves way for management to interfere in student governance portraying the inept of student leadership. Treating SRC activities in this manner basically means collapsing of our bridge that leads us to our highest authority, the management.  The SRC is a respected mouthpiece to the numerous students in KNUST and for that matter activities conducted under its leadership should be treated with utmost respect. In situations like this, we force the management to compress the jurisdictions of the SRC by putting barriers on some operations and schemes it can exhibit. As intellectuals, violence should not be part of our lifestyle irrespective of our indifferences on issues. As student, we need not to be unconcern about the campus system that is unfavorable to the masses. We have the responsibility on our part to play which is "to be active in respectfully voicing opinions and ideas appropriately" - KNUST Student Guide. Our muteness is granting them the chance to act the way they are acting. Management are mostly aware of certain happenings that affect the livelihood of the students on campus and off campus yet they look unconcern because the students are unconcern.
